The Association of Ukrainians in Poland is a nationwide organisation representing the Ukrainian minority, founded in February 1990. We are active in the following areas:

Culture – we promote Ukrainian culture and foster the cultural identity of our minority members. We organise cultural events and workshops. Various artistic groups (music, dance, theatre) – both traditional and experimental – operate under the auspices of the Association.

Dialogue – we work towards Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation, participate in initiatives promoting dialogue and initiate them ourselves. We issue statements and invite people to engage in conversations and discussions on important topics. We respond to acts of aggression against Ukrainians: both physical and verbal (including online).

Remembrance – we strive to preserve the memory of the past and the lands of our ancestors. We organise commemorations dedicated to Operation Vistula, thematic discussions, and prepare and publish materials or exhibitions.

Education – we initiate and support Ukrainian language teaching centres, organise extra-curricular activities, run an after-school club, workshops, and educational and recreational camps during the winter and summer holidays for children and young people. We direct other educational activities towards adults (including the majority community): exhibitions, workshops, lectures, themed meetings, etc.

Community – We operate through ten branches and several dozen groups based on the voluntary work of members and volunteers.

In the face of the war in Ukraine, our activities have also expanded to include humanitarian aid – we organise collections of goods and funds. We support refugees in various situations. We maintain a constant presence at the railway station in Przemyśl. We run a Mother and Child Room near the station. In Przemyśl, we operate a night shelter and the Ukrainian House, which provides administrative support and organises cultural activities.
